TAKE ACTION: Tell the Governor to

California is facing a jobs crisis of epic proportions. Not only is unemployment

at its highest rate since the Great Depression, but there are six job seekers for

every one job available. The ranks of the long-term unemployed continue to grow,

with many exhausting unemployment benefits and losing hope.

Our economy cannot recover without jobs!

Three job creation bills sponsored by the California Labor Federation

are currently sitting on the Governor's desk:

AB 1830 (Jones) directs the High Speed Rail Authority to make every effort to

build the train cars here. AB 2437 (V. Perez) creates a revolving loan fund to provide gap financing to

manufacturing companies that want to come to or stay in California. SB 967 (Correa)

establishes a 5% bid preference in state contracts for goods and services to any company

that agrees to hire at least 90% California workers.
